Are you a vino snob? Do you enjoy tasting wines from across the country and the globe? Or are you simply interested in discovering and learning more about wine? If so, you should consider attending the second annual Andrews Wine Festival this Saturday, March 28. I’ve attended this festival in the past when it was the Buckhead Wine Festival, and can wholeheartedly say that you’ll be able to learn and sip to your heart’s content.
When I attended the festival with Corey two years ago, we had a great time as VIP attendees. We had access to enter the festival an hour before general admission entrants did. We attended a seminar on how to pair wine with cheese from local farms. We learned more about wines made in Georgia and elsewhere. And, we were able to visit some of our favorite wine stops a couple of times without having an obnoxious wait time. Though the festival is well-attended by local wine lovers, we didn’t have to deal with an unbearable wait or crowd, though the popular wine stops did have lines!
This year, VIP attendees will have access to an exclusive reception and meet-and-greets with wine makers, receive early entrance into the festival, taste more than 145 wines and attend one of three seminars. Additionally, they will also receive a $20 gift card to Cellar 56 or Czar Ice Bar. General admission attendees will have access to taste more than 100 wines and (with a $5 donation) will receive a Riedel tasting glass (an amazing piece of glassware for wine drinkers!). A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Giving Kitchen, an amazing nonprofit that helps restaurant workers when they are in need.
