A Romantic Getaway – Panviman Resort Chiang Mai

Romantic getaway in Chiang Mai - Panviman Resort - A Taste of Our City

When we lived in Atlanta, we had weekly date nights and occasional staycations in the city. But once we moved to Chiang Mai, all of that stopped, mostly because we were always with each other. So when Panviman Resort invited us to stay for a couple of nights, I was thrilled that we could have our own mini romantic getaway in Chiang Mai.

Panviman Resort’s idyllic, peaceful setting among the mountains in Chiang Mai makes it the perfect backdrop for couples looking to commemorate a special milestone or escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Though we did see quite a few families vacationing here, I believe this resort better caters to couples because of its seclusion and calmness.

The rooms have an expansive yet rustic charm. We enjoyed eating our room service meals on the balcony overlooking the green foliage, relaxing in the outside Jacuzzi and surfing the internet in a quaint alcove within the suite.

Our couple’s massage at Panviman’s award-winning spa was absolutely delightful. We had a chance to pick the scent of the oil we wanted (similar to our Bangkok experience), sipped on roselle tea and had our feet washed before we were whisked away to a private room for 90 minutes of pure bliss. Side note: it was one of the best massages I had. It was so great in fact, that Corey told me that I snored multiple times and he couldn’t help but laugh at a few.

We also enjoyed time at the infinity pool overlooking the valley. Because it’s filled with fresh, distilled mountain water, it was quite chilly, so we opted for photos and laying out by the pool.

What else did we do? We ate a lot of food: the menu was recently expanded to include more Thai, Chinese and Western dishes to accommodate the guests that they had. I was also pleased to see the resort grows many of the ingredients they use in their meals in an organic vegetable farm.

The resort also offers a variety of onsite activities including cooking classes, mini golf, table games like foosball and ping pong. If you’re interested in going off the property, you can get transportation to places in Chiang Mai like the Night Bazaar or the Sunday Walking Street and nearby attractions.

If you’re looking for an escape from the city, we’d definitely recommend checking out Panviman Resort!

When’s the last time you did a staycation in your city?

Disclosure: Thanks to Panviman Resort, we were able to enjoy their property for two nights and get a couple’s massage, all on the house! We paid for everything else and as always, our opinions are 100 percent our own.

  1. The next time we come there, PLEASE make sure this is on the list! The food and outdoor jacuzzi alone look incredible. To answer your question, I don’t think I’ve ever had a staycation. When I do get a new boo, it will be a priority. Any takers??!

Will do! I think I went back to the breakfast buffet twice a couple of days haha. Staycations are the best way to relax and have a vacation without dealing with the hassle of going through an airport or packing 100 ml bottles of everything. 🙂

  2. Looks like a nice relaxing stay. Your pictures are gorg!

  3. This looks so perfect! I haven’t been on a staycation in Atlanta in a few years. Might be something that I need to revisit…

You definitely should! I love getting a room at the Loew’s Hotel in Midtown and making a weekend out of it!

  4. I did a staycation almost a year ago on one of Hong Kong’s outer islands (I live in Hong Kong). OMG! It took me about 3 hours to get there! It was very complicated. A friend that lives in Macau joined me. We stayed at an old marine police station that had been converted into a boutique hotel, and we LOVED it! Our only regret is that we didn’t spend two nights there.

That sounds like a trek, but it was totally worth it according to your description! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
